 OUR AIM
Our work is based on Gospel values.  We aim to bring justice, peace and care of creation activities into our Parish in order to bring about a  more justified peaceful world.

OUR OBJECTIVES
To encourage our parishioners to live simply so that others may live and to take part in our activities.

PRESENT CHIEF CONCERNS
1          to provide clean water supplies for poor African villages by holding two     FRUGAL MEALS annually
2          to work with Christian Solidarity Worldwide praying for persecuted Christians      of all denominations and sending greeting cards to Prisoners of Conscience.

We hold two Prayer Services annually:-
Justice and Peace Stations of the Cross in Lent and Justice and Peace Rosary in the Autumn.  Both services conclude with Benediction.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
As a group we write to M.P’s and sign petitions re: abortion, euthanasia, suffering of refugees, Human Trafficking, Care of Creation etc

We encourage our parishioners to take part in these activities.

SPECIAL ACTIVITY FOR THE YEAR OF MERCY
Mr Sokreaksa Himm will share his experiences of survival through the POL-POT Regime in Cambodia and how he has learned to forgive his persecutors.  This will take place on 10th June at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall.

New members are always welcome.
Please come and join us in our prayer and work

JUSTICE AND PEACE GROUP PRAYER

livesimply

Compassionate and loving God,
you created the world for us all to share,
a world of beauty and plenty.
Create in us a desire to live simply,
so that our lives may reflect your generosity.

Creator God, You gave us responsibility for the earth,
a world of riches and delight.
Create in us a desire to live sustainably,
so that those who follow after us
may enjoy the fruits of your creation.

God of peace and justice,
You give us the capacity to change,
to bring about a world that mirrors your wisdom.
Create in us a desire to act in solidarity,
so that the pillars of injustice crumble
and those now crushed are set free.

Amen.
