Parish Library |
The Flint Parish Library at St Mary’s Church was formally opened in memory of Fr Timothy Noel Brien on 13th June 2015.
Fr Tim was an avid reader of a wide range of literature and had amassed a large amount of books within his personal collection. Upon Fr Tim’s passing Fr Adrian Wilcock decided that it would be a fitting tribute to Fr Tim’s memory as a friend of the parish and a perfect solution for his collection to begin the development of a small Parish library. The library now holds over 1,000 books and is growing and developing week by week, it is a living and working resource that we hope will be used by not only members of our parish but by the wider faith community as a whole.
Our library collection holds titles on God and Theology, the Bible and Biblical commentaries, the Holy Catholic Church, the Papacy and Saints and Prayer and Spiritual writings. We are also privileged to hold Fr Tim’s extensive collection of non-fiction books on the English Royal Family.
The library is open for browsing, borrowing, prayer and contemplation during the church opening hours.
We hope that through the joy and learning our library brings to our Parish and all our visitors we maintain the light of Christ’s teaching in our lives and the warmth that Fr Tim brought to us as a priest and friend.
The Library has now been moved into the Parish Centre.
